Scolionema

Scolionema suvaense & Scolionema sanshin

Scolionema are a delightful species of clinging jellyfish. Hailing from the family Olindiidae means they are related to more well known species such as the flower hat jellyfish (Olindias formosus).

Caring for Scolionema

Pleasantly easy to care for, Scolionema do not require the same specialized aquariums and flow that traditional jellyfish would. Being a species of clinging jellyfish, they spend a lot of their time stuck to the sides of the tank, waiting for food to drift by. They will occasionally get up and dart around the tank so some precautions are necessary to ensure they do not get sucked into filters or carried down and overflow. A small cube or cylinder shaped tank with a sponge filter would be adequate to house Scolionema
