Our Research

Our goal is to share our passion for jellyfish and the planet's oceans in the hope of inspiring future generations of environmental stewards, scientists and naturalists. Using the funding we receive from donations and our own contributions, we conduct research on jellyfish so that we may better understand what role they play in our ecosystems, how their life cycles work and how we can potentially predict blooms and mitigate stings.

The Jellyfish Compendium Project

Our namesake and my legacy project, my ultimate goal is to photograph, document and explore the life cycles of as many jellyfish as possible.

The Jelly Genome Project

The goal here is to DNA barcode as many jellyfish as possible, to have a better understanding of what species exist and where. We are starting with Moon Jellyfish that are kept and cultured in public aquariums.
